Anna Kendrickbecame the first Twilight cast member to pierce her fangs into the Oscars Tuesday, as the talented 24-year-old earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her critically acclaimed role in the quirky drama Up In The Air.
Kendrick, who plays Jessica Stanley in Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling vampire series, was also nominated for a Golden Globe for her efforts in the George Clooney film, though lost out to Precious newcomer Mo’Nique, who is nominated for best supporting actress Oscar, as well.
Despite her youth, Kendrick in no stranger to award show accolades, having been the second-youngest person nominated for a prestigious Tony award in 1998 for her role in the musical, High Society.
The 82nd annual Academy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood March 7.
Kendrick’s next venture onto the big screen will be the highly anticipated Eclipse, the third film in Twilight franchise. It opens June 30.
