The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Daniel Cudmore isn’t lined up to portray Conan the Barbarian just yet, despite reports stating that he was.

ComicBookMovies reported that the former X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand star “told us that the new movie will be much darker than the previous one. He also says that the cast selection is down to two people. Himself and Roland Kickinger. Now you might find it interesting that Kickinger was Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator Salvation and See Arnold Run.”

Daniel Cudmore, however, put the rumors to bed this evening when he tweeted that he did indeed audition for the role but that casting information was false.

There is a rumour that I will be playing Conan, not true….Only had an audition for it, though it would be sweet if I did!

Fingers crossed that he gets the part!
