The production of the third installment of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse came to an end with the final scenes wrapping up in the early morning hours of October 29. I am told the cast and crew closed the doors at 6am.
A few hours later, paparazzi were staking out the Vancouver International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport awaiting the arrival of Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
They were not disappointed when two very tired looking young actors moved swiftly, sunglasses on, heads down, with personal security and handles through the Vancouver airport. Neither looked happy to meet the swarm of photographers but seem to relax a little once through security. Back to the final scenes.
My sources tell me that Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart both worked late into the evening on Wednesday in studio while the second unit worked on a mountain scene where the body of Victoria burns.
This is how the scenes were broken down,
Edward’s bedroom:
Bella tries to seduce Edward, he tells her how he would have courted her.
Int of Cullen house – top of stairs:
Bella & Edward climb the stairs past the wall of graduation caps
insert – ext woods – Bella pricks her finger – a drop of blood appears
her voice over:
Bella (Robert Frost Poetry – Riley’s turning)
All the interior work was filmed at the Canadian Motion Picture Park and additional interior work was done in studio G at the Vancouver Film Studios.
Also on 2nd unit-
ext: mountain peak campsite: Victoria’s body burns.
I believe Xavier Samuel left Vancouver later Wednesday. It is interesting to note that Bryce and Xavier were two of the first cast to arrive in Vancouver and have been working steadily for the duration of the ten week shoot.
I sincerely hope they had a nice time in Vancouver. I was lucky enough to meet both of them one day while I was downtown. I asked both of them to sign my daughters Twilight books. Both were so generous with their time and Bryce was lovely. She chatted with my daughter and was really thrilled to be the “New” Victoria. Xavier was often seen out on the streets of Vancouver and never turned down a request for an autograph or photo with a fan. He seemed like a very thoughtful, sweet young man with a strong acting future ahead of him.
The last day of filming was long and arduous but the production made it worth while by providing a sumptuous dinner and “plenty of good eats”.
At the end of production it is customary for the production to prepare some crew gifts. A rule of thumb is the bigger the budget, the bigger and better the crew gifts. Twilight Eclipse did not disappoint this time around. The crew gifts came in a North Face back pack filled with goodies and treasures. Inside the back pack were a large assortment of Twilight emblazed and embroidered things to wear and use. Everyone received a Twilight Umbrella, a Twilight t-shirt and black hoody, a black ball cap and even Twilight Candy.

Also included, which I thought was very thoughtful, a couple of black and white 5×7 stills from behind the scenes and get this, an 8×10 photo of Bella, Edward and Jacob, autographed by all three cast members.
Many of the crew has already moved on to new projects. Someone said that “Charles” the infamous set containment PA was seen working on A-Team. (I hear a collective moan).
Some crew who have Twitter accounts have tweeted they are back in LA or London or where ever they live and on to new projects.
The big wrap party is really a time for making new connections and securing new gigs down the line. Working on a film is not glamorous. It is often filled with long and grueling hours of work. It is often cold, wet, uncomfortable, challenging, exhausting and painful but once all the filming is done, they feel good about the accomplishments and most of the crew are busy seeking out the next job. There is no time to relax because you have to keep the gears grinding.
We can expect to see Eclipse in Theaters June 30th 2010.
