Jackson Rathbone, who portrays “Jasper Hale” in Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and whose film The Last Airbender releases this summer, has apparently signed up for his next project, Truckstop.

Cinematical reports that Rathbone is signed onto the film to portray “a man with cerebral palsy who works at a truck stop while caring for his dying father.”

Cinematical also “hope[s] he’s bending the ear of New Moon co-star Michael Sheen, since the actor was simply excellent as Art Honeyman (a man with cerebral palsy) in Music Within.”

Another resource he might be able to use is Kristen Stewart, who portrayed a young woman with Friedreich’s ataxia in The Cake Eaters, not because the two diseases are the same by any means but because the portrayal of them both requires physical manuevering and sensitivity to those who suffer them.
