Twilight fan Madeleine has just sent us this beautiful poem she wrote about Renesmee from Edward's point of view! Thanks Madeleine!
Renesmee
My darling daughter, you must know just how much I love you.
When you wake, my day brightens,
when I hold you in my arms, my loving grip tightens.
When I can hold you there, I cherish every second.
When your gorgeous eyes gaze into mine, to my heart you do beckon.
You grow so swiftly that I fear, these precious moments I hold so dear, will soon disappear.
You look so much like your mother.
Your chocolate eyes are like no other.
Your curly hair like Grandpa’s the color of my own,
illuminates your lovely skin, as white as a bone.
Though you are immortal, blood runs through your cheeks.
And when you blush, my darling girl, I can hardly speak.
When you lay your hand upon my face, your little thoughts come rushing in.
Vivid pictures and memories that are held up within.
I want you all my own but I know that I must share.
Aside from me and your mother, another will always be there.
Your dear friend Jacob has fallen for you and will always love you forever.
He’s already a brother, a son to me and soon to you a husband he will be.
Until then, he will wait and be your friend,
he’ll keep you safe, on him you can always depend.
It’s time to go to sleep my Nessie, I will see you in the morn.
May your dreams be sweet and happy. I treasure the day that you were born.
