In one of their moves to attract more viewers for the Academy Awards, producers Alan Shankman and Bill Mechanic were planning to bring together two of the world’s most popular authors: Harry Potter’sJK Rowling and Twilight’s Stephenie Meyer.

Their plan however didnt push through as Ms. Rowling declined due to conflict of schedules while Ms. Meyer as a Mormon, doesnt work on Sundays.

The pair even wanted ” Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling and “Twilight” scribe Stephenie Meyer to present the adapted screenplay category, but Rowling was unavailable because of scheduling conflicts and Meyer, who is a Mormon, does not work on Sundays.
