The world lost a true genius today. It pains the dark hole where my heart used to reside to report that Steve Jobs lost his battle with cancer today.
Requiem aeternam
The man invented the personal computer. If that wasn't enough, he invented the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad. I honestly have no idea how many Apple products we have in our house. Our dining room table is a veritable Steve Jobs shrine. Apple has a lovely tribute to their founder on their site.
I am honestly too tired to come up with a decent segue for the second half of this post, so I am inserting an actual Segway.
I hate cancer with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. It has stolen our friends and family. It is indiscriminate in its targets. It must be stopped.
In conjunction with the release of the last two Twilight movies, Twihards and Twitards have united to raise money to help fight childhood cancer. Breaking Dawn will be no different. Fandom Gives Back is organizing another fundraiser from November 13-19th. Thanks to you, they have raised over $200,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand the past two years.
