Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the blockbuster “Twilight” saga, is sticking with a couple of stars from its vampire franchise.
Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard are co-starring in the James McAvoy and Seth Rogen cancer comedy, which Summit just acquired the North American rights to, says The Hollywood Reporter. Yes, you read correctly. A comedy about cancer.
The untitled project, which was previously known as “I’m With Cancer,” revolves around a young man (McAvoy) who discovers he has cancer. So far, there are no details about what roles Kendrick, Howard and Rogen will play. The project is based on an autobiographical script by Will Reiser, who beat the disease himself.
Shooting will begin in late February in Vancouver. Jonathan Levine, who’s directing the zombie flick “Warm Bodies” for Summit Entertainment, will also direct this film.
Kendrick, who plays Bella’s human pal Jessica in the “Twilight” films, was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for her role in “Up in the Air.” Howard will appear in the upcoming “Twilight: Eclipse” as Victoria (replacing Rachelle Lefevre).
McAvoy has starred in “Wanted,” “The Last King of Scotland,” “Atonement” and “The Last Station.” Rogen is a known for his comedies “Knocked Up,” “Superbad” and “Pineapple Express.” He stars in the upcoming film “The Green Hornet.”
