‘Summit security for Twilight saga stars and cast’
An open letter to:
Rob Friedman – CEO and co-Chairman Summit Entertainment
Patrick Wachsberger – President and co-Chairman Summit Entertainment
Bob Hayward- COO Summit Entertainment
Sirs,
Congratulations on the huge success of Twilight and the soon to be released New Moon, which we expect will do as well if not better than the first film of the series. Media interest in the film and the cast is high, sadly in some cases unhealthily so.
We’ve seen, with a great deal of dismay, the paparazzi and fan gauntlet that the two leads of your films, Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, are obliged to run every time they choose to go somewhere and when they come back to their hotel. While we understand this is the price of fame, we’d like to point out that the safety of your stars might be better ensured if:
They have personal driver(s) and car(s) at their disposition when they choose to go out. It’s surprising that the lives and safety of any of the cast is being entrusted to unknown taxi drivers over whose car maintenance your company has no control. We suspect that they might appreciate the privacy that blacked out windows would afford as well. Not to mention the decoy possibilities.
Accommodation that guarantees their privacy and safety. The location of their current hotel was diffused over the internet weeks ago. The latest video shows fans getting into the elevator of their hotel with them. So far, they’ve been fortunate enough to not have run into any unbalanced fans who wish one or both of them harm. Had that been the case, they would have been sadly vulnerable. Surely there must be a hotel or acceptable apartment building with a penthouse suite that has secure underground parking and a private elevator somewhere in Vancouver?
While they may or may not be asking for any of these things, sheer common sense and most certainly good business sense, would dictate that Summit Entertainment look after their most valuable asset and those who have helped to make it so, ie: The Twilight Saga and it’s Cast. There is no reason that any of them should be obliged to hide in their rooms when a more intelligent arrangement could be put into place.
You, the Management of Summit Entertainment, have in your hands the germ of a loyal Studio fan base, well beyond the Twilight Saga. We know that you have the vision to see this.
