The end of 2009 is nearing and its that time of the year once again where countdowns are being listed. Since we are ending the first ten years of the new millennium, most of the countdowns released focus on the Top Things for the Last Ten Years.

Australia’s The Herald Sunhas listed down the Top 10 movie characters of the last decade and even though they only made a big impact only for the last two years, Bella and Edward made it into the list.

10  Edward/Bella

THOUGH they arrived on the scene only late in the decade, there is no denying the impact of Twilight’s vampire Edward Cullen and his human paramour, Bella Swann. Like the Harry Potter books, Stephenie Meyer’s novels had a cult following already, raising high expectations for the first film in 2008. The Twi-hards didn’t disappoint, turning out in droves to make the film a hit and dragging friends, family and reluctant boyfriends along to the recently opened sequel, New Moon. There are still two films yet to come, but Edward and Bella, fuelled by the are-they,-aren’t-they? real life relationship of actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, already  have established themselves as the Romeo and Juliet of the new millennium.
