The Danger Magnet hosts a discussion of New Moon

So the news for UK Twilight fans this week hasn’t been great. Monday brought the announcement that the London premiere of New Moon has been canceled. Summit will be holding the World Premiere in Los Angeles on November 16. While this is incredibly disappointing, it also brings up a question… what to do to get ready for New Moon?

While it’s not a premiere, I do have an answer on how to get into the spirit. I know many fans plan to read the book again before the movie comes out, getting back to the reason we all fell in love with the saga in the first place. The Danger Magnet is hosting a New Moon discussion with a reading schedule that will run right up to November 19.

If you are not familiar with The Danger Magnet’s book discussions, you are in for a real treat. Ana Cristina, the site’s creator, is a high school English teacher and the Miami Book Examiner. She led a wonderful discussion on Twilight and her character discussions were nothing short of fantastic. They were very well thought out and comprehensive, covering everyone from Bella and Edward to Charlie and Leah.

Here is the introduction to the discussion…

Welcome to the new discussion series on TDM! For the next nine weeks or so, we will be re-reading New Moon, three chapters at a time. I will post a new discussion every Thursday, which will include questions and other related items to the book. This discussion will end on the eve of the movie premiere, November 19th.

I promise you there will be no spoilers as far as the movie is concerned. That means pictures, videos, etc (any pictures placed in discussion posts will be from photo shoots, manips, etc.). That also means I will not tolerate any movie-spoilers in the comments at all. Any comments containing movie-spoilers will be deleted on the spot. This is a BOOK discussion. The movie discussion will only happen after the movie has been released. The spoilers that will be present in this discussion are solely related to the book. Please do not read the discussions if you have not read New Moon and do not wish to be spoiled!

I cannot recommend a re-reading of New Moon highly enough. If you’ve only read it once, you’ve missed out on so much. Stephenie Meyer herself has said you have to read it twice. The first time you read it, all you want to do is get back to Edward. The second time through you can relax and take it all in. Personally, I have fallen more in love with this book each time through. What better way to make sure you don’t miss a thing than to participate in this discussion? I guarantee you’ll enjoy it. I look forward to seeing you there!
