Twilight scribe Melissa Rosenberg is keeping busy with Summit Entertainment as she is tapped by the studio firm to pen the new adaptation of the classic Highlander. Summit is planning to remake the film and they are in negotiations with Melissa. Neil Moritz is producing the project with Justin Lin directing the film.

The original story centered on a Scottish swordsman, who discovers he is part of a secret race of near-immortal beings and faces off against an unstoppable barbarian who covets the power gained from there being only one of their kind left.
