While the US is still reeling from the New Moon premiere two nights ago, the rest of the world is bracing for New Moon coming to theaters this Friday. Yesterday, Fandango has reported that New Moon took over the top spot in their top-selling advance tickets sales in their history toppling heavy weights such as Harry Potter, The Dark Knight and Star Wars. Today, Movie Tickets has announced that New Moon is selling 90% of their ticket sales. With these pre-release numbers, New Moon is poised to conquer the world this Friday.

Just how Twilight has taken over the world? Well in an article by Variety, the movie is highly anticipated that a mere appearance of the cast causes riot and hysteria.

Original “Twilight” cumed $192.2 million at the international B.O., matching the domestic gross. Strongest grosses came from territories including France, Germany, Australia and Spain. Summit owns worldwide rights to the franchise, but is releasing through local distribs.

This time, the cast made stops around the globe promoting the sequel.

In Germany and Spain, sporting arenas were filled to capacity with fans eager for a glimpse of Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner. A similar event in the U.K. was combined with a concert. In Australia, fans are spending more on “Twilight” merchandise than those in the U.S.

In Sweden, “New Moon” has been slapped with the country’s highest rating, 15, for its sense of violence and a “constant mood of anxiety.” Pic’s predecessor “Twilight” received the same rating. Pic is rated PG-13 in the U.S.
