According to Deadline Hollywood, Robert Pattinson is one of the actors being short listed in the new WB movie, Akira. The film is going to be directed by Albert Hughes and will be based on a script by Steve Kloves.

Robert is being considered for the role of Tetsuo and a script has been sent to him. Other actors being considered for the role are Robert’s close friend, Andre Garfield and James McAvoy. Other actors being considered for the role of Kaneda are Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Justin Timberlake and Joaquin Phoenix.

Akira takes place in New Manhattan where a leader of biker gang saves his friend from a medical experiment.
