Variety are reporting, and Stephenie Meyer's website has confirmed, that The Host will become a movie!

According to the article, producers Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz used their own money to acquire the screen rights to the book. Andrew Niccol will write the script and direct.
