For all of us who spent months asking if it was June yet, the fact that it is now July seems nearly unbelievable. So what does that mean? It means that Eclipse is now out in US theaters and will soon be all over the UK as well. It’s US opening on Tuesday was a record-breaking $30 million for the midnight release alone. I was among those numbers, seeing the entire “Twilight Trilogy” back to back.
Today is Robert Pattinson’s 24th birthday. All around the world today people are celebrating. Over on the main Eyes of Amber blog we’re celebrating by talking about how Rob came into our lives. We’ve asked readers to tell us whether they were Twilight fans or Rob fans first. Really looking forward to getting the answers on that one.
While the official premiere of Remember Me was almost two weeks ago, the film will open across the UK this weekend. I have seen the film four times, but I have tried very hard to keep all of my writing and twitter feed free of spoilers. I saw this movie without spoilers and I believe that everyone deserves that same opportunity.
Yesterday was the day that we’ve been waiting for, the reveal of the Eclipse one sheet poster! Within minutes, people starting voicing their opinions. While some were thrilled with it, for others it fell far short of their expectations. I was kind of middle of the road.
Wait, isn’t Eyes of Amber supposed to be all about Twilightand all things Twilight related? Why yes, yes it is. But you see, I have found another vampire passion as well. This one also has literary roots, but it’s taken to the small screen rather than the big screen. And beginning next week, it’s coming to the UK!
I’m sure that my readers think I’ve disappeared or totally forgotten about my little home away form home over here at t5m, but I promise I have not. I have all kinds of ideas that I want to work with here and I can’t wait to share them with you. But for today, there’s something a bit more serious to take on.
This is the time of year that we all begin to reminisce about the last 12 months. Christmas is upon us, which means a near year is just around the corner. This year we have the unique opportunity of looking back at the first decade of a new century. That’s absolutely amazing!
It’s been almost a month since New Moon hit theaters and just over six months until Eclipse does the same. A few weeks ago Kerry, my wonderful blogging partner, noticed that the number of weeks and chapters in Eclipse matched up just right. So she came up with the idea to do an Eclipse book discussion, chapter by chapter. But we didn’t want this to be just your average book discussion. We decided to do it as a panel. So once a week, the panel gets together online to chat.
As the record-breaking box office numbers began to pour in for New Moon, there was a question heard across the fandom: What about Breaking Dawn? I’ll admit, I was one of those who predicted we’d get an announcement over opening weekend. I based that prediction on the fact thatNew Moon had been given the green light during opening weekend of Twilight last year. But as you know, no such announcement was made.
While last week brought a wonderful fan event to the UK, no one can deny that the release of New Moon is the real main event. All kinds of Twilight fans will be holding special celebrations. While of course I’m going to share my plans, I want to hear all about yours too! Are you having a party? Are you going to see it multiple times? Is anyone seeing Twilight before?
